Najeeb Huda is an Advocate at the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, a Barrister and a Senior Associate at Dr. Kamal Hossain and Associates, which he joined in 2008.

Najeeb has years of experience in working with both domestic corporations and institutions, and with foreign clients and international counsel.

Najeeb’s main areas of expertise include employment, data protection and privacy, fintech and company matters as well as different facets of corporate and commercial law, regulatory and transactional matters, with a particular focus on banking matters and acquisitions.

Najeeb was part of a team advising multinational banks operating in Bangladesh when supply chain financing, and import and export financing products were first introduced in Bangladesh. He was also part of a team that advised an international financial service provider regarding its investment in a leading Bangladeshi mobile financial service provider, and regarding launch of a consumer loan product through a mobile phone app, the first time such a product was launched in Bangladesh.

Najeeb holds an LL.B (Hons.) degree from London Metropolitan University, UK (2006) and an LL.M. degree from the University of Cambridge, UK (2008). He completed the Bar Vocational Course from the BPP Law School in the UK (2007). He was called to the Bar from the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn (2007). He was enrolled as an Advocate by the Bangladesh Bar Council (2009) and permitted to practise before the High Court Division, Supreme Court of Bangladesh (2010).

Najeeb’s publications include ‘Guide to Restructuring, Turnaround and Insolvency in Asia Pacific’, Herbert Smith Freehills (2018, 2020, 2023) (co-authored with Dr. Sharif Bhuiyan) and ‘Data Protection Laws of the World’, DLA Piper (2022) (co-authored with Dr. Sharif Bhuiyan).

Najeeb is a member of the Dhaka Bar Association, the Supreme Court Bar Association, and the Hon’ble Society of Lincoln’s Inn.
